ISRO Successfully Establishes Aditya L1 Mission, India's First Solar Exploration Mission After 5 months

In yet another historic achievement, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully established India's solar mission, Aditya L1, in orbit around the Sun after 5 months.

The mission, also known as the Aditya Solar Exploration Mission, is positioned approximately 1.5 million kilometres away from Earth in the Lagrange Point (L1) of the Earth-Sun system.

The Aditya L1 mission, launched by ISRO's PSLV rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, incurred a cost of around 400 crore rupees. 

The mission aims to study the dynamics and environment of the Sun, sharing valuable information with international space agencies, including NASA's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SHO) and the European Space Agency's (ESA) Base Station.

Taking approximately 5 months to reach its designated orbit, Aditya L1 is equipped with seven payloads designed to observe the Sun continuously. 

The spacecraft will be stationed at the L1 point, a stable gravitational location between the Sun and Earth, providing constant observations of solar activities.

The payloads on Aditya L1, named after the L1 Lagrange Point, will focus on studying solar dynamics, the solar atmosphere, and their impact on the Earth's environment. 

The mission is expected to provide crucial data on solar radiation, solar storms, and their effects on Earth's atmosphere.

With the recent success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO has further solidified its position as a leading space agency. The Aditya L1 mission marks India's entry into solar studies and positions the country as a key player in space exploration.
