Google Pixel 8 Series Expands Color Palette with Minty Fresh Option

Tech enthusiasts and smartphone aficionados are in for a treat as Google prepares to launch a new color variant for its Pixel 8 series this week. The Minty Fresh color option is set to debut on January 25, adding a vibrant and refreshing hue to the existing lineup.

Four months after the initial launch of the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro, Google is introducing this new color option to diversify its palette. The Pixel 8 was originally launched in Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose, while the Pixel 8 Pro offered Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain color choices.

The addition of Minty Fresh brings a light green option, adding a touch of novelty to the series.

Google's social media platforms teased the arrival of Minty Fresh with a video showcasing the new color and a cryptic message in binary code, stating "fresh year, fresh drop."

The pricing for the Minty Fresh variant is expected to align with existing options, and it is likely to be an exclusive model available through the Google Store.

Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro boast Google's in-house Tensor G3 processor, offering up to 256GB of storage, running on the latest Android 14 OS, and featuring 120Hz refresh rate displays.

The devices have been designed with sustainability in mind, constructed from 100% recycled aluminum and at least 18% recycled materials.

In terms of pricing, the Pixel 8 is priced at Rs 75,999 in India for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant, while the Pixel 8 Pro starts at Rs 1,06,999 for the 12GB RAM/128GB storage configuration.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro come equipped with the latest Tensor G3 chipset, 120Hz OLED displays, and offer up to 1TB of onboard storage. The Pixel 8 Pro stands out with an additional body temperature measurement feature, thanks to a new sensor.

Camera capabilities are a highlight for both models. The Pixel 8 Pro boasts a 50MP wide-angle sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 48MP telephoto lens with up to 30x zoom.

Battery performance is robust, with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro featuring 4,575mAh and 5,050mAh batteries, respectively. Both support 27W and 30W wired charging, as well as wireless charging.

The Pixel 8 Pro's battery is claimed to charge to 50% in 30 minutes and 100% in 100 minutes, while the vanilla Pixel 8 takes a slightly longer duration for a full charge.

With the introduction of Minty Fresh, Google aims to cater to users looking for a distinctive and lively color option within the Pixel 8 series. The new variant is expected to hit the shelves soon, offering consumers an exciting choice to personalize their Pixel experience.
