This ambitious scheme aims to bring solar power to one crore homes across the nation by installing rooftop solar panels.

The Prime Minister, who chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation of the scheme, shared images on X (formerly known as Twitter) showcasing his review of the solar panels that will soon adorn the rooftops of households nationwide.

In a statement, PM Modi expressed the inspiration drawn from the consecration in Ayodhya, stating, "All the devotees of the world always get energy from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram.

Today, on the auspicious occasion of consecration in Ayodhya, my resolution got further strengthened that the people of India should have their own solar rooftop system on the roof of their houses."

"The first decision I have taken after returning from Ayodhya is that our government will launch 'Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana' with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses," he added.

The announcement comes as a welcome move, particularly for the economically disadvantaged sections of society.
