Ajay Devgn's Film 'Maidaan' Set for April 2024 Release, Showcasing Untold Football Hero's Story

 Mumbai, January 23, 2024: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn's much-anticipated film 'Maidaan,' which revolves around the remarkable journey of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, is now scheduled to hit theatres in April 2024, as announced by trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Initially slated for a June 2023 release, the film faced delays in its production, leading to the new release date. Taran Adarsh took to social media to share the news, stating, "AJAY DEVGN: ‘MAIDAAN’ TO ARRIVE THIS EID… #Maidaan – starring #AjayDevgn – gets a new release date: April 2024 #Eid… Directed by Amit Sharma."

The movie narrates the inspiring tale of Syed Abdul Rahim, the unsung hero who guided the Indian football team to victory in the Asian Games of 1951 and 1962. 

Ajay Devgn steps into the shoes of the uncelebrated coach, bringing attention to Rahim's crucial role in transforming Indian football. Producer Boney Kapoor, expressing his admiration for Rahim, remarked, "I was amazed that not many are aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim. He is an unheard hero that deserves honors."

Boney Kapoor also highlighted the notable players in Rahim's team, including Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco, and Arun Ghosh, emphasizing the collective effort that led to India's success on the football field. 

Kapoor expressed hope that the film, with Ajay Devgn in the lead, would inspire a new generation of football enthusiasts in the country.

Ajay Devgn, too, took to social media to unveil the title of his upcoming film with actors R Madhavan and Jyotika. The film, titled 'Shaitaan,' hints at a supernatural thriller theme. 

Devgn shared a chilling poster featuring the release date, adding an element of suspense and anticipation for fans eagerly awaiting this intriguing project.

As 'Maidaan' gears up for its April 2024 release, fans are eager to witness Ajay Devgn's portrayal of Syed Abdul Rahim and the untold story of Indian football's rise to glory. 

With the film expected to shed light on a lesser-known chapter in the nation's sports history, 'Maidaan' promises to be a cinematic tribute to the unsung heroes of Indian football.
