Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates visits Maa Mangla Basti in Bhubaneswar

Odisha — Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft and a well-known philanthropist, recently paid a visit to Maa Mangla Basti in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. During his visit, Gates engaged with the residents of the slum area and held discussions on the importance of basic amenities for the community. 

Gates also shared his experiences on his blog, highlighting his visit to a low-income community in Odisha where a government program is empowering women to secure government construction contracts.

The philanthropist's schedule included meetings with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, farmers, and successful entrepreneurs to learn about various government schemes aimed at development, such as 'Jaga Mission' and 'Mission Shakti'.  

Additionally, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has been collaborating with the Odisha government to enhance the lives of small farmers and promote inclusive agricultural transformation through data-driven decision-making systems.
