Fitbit will not sell products in several countries including Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hong Kong, Hungary, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Thailand. This decision aligns with Fitbit’s strategic realignment under Google’s ownership. Despite this, Fitbit has assured its customers that it will continue to support its wearables with software updates and customer services.

Upcoming Fitbit Products

While Fitbit’s market presence is shrinking, the company is far from stagnant. Recent reports suggest that a new Fitbit device is on the horizon. The new device, identified by the product number G3MP5, was spotted on a US Federal Communications Commission website and a Singaporean telecoms database.

The new Fitbit device is expected to be a fitness tracker, given the similarities in the FCC e-label storage and access methods with existing Fitbit trackers like the Fitbit Charge 5. This would be the first new Fitbit device under Google since the company’s acquisition in November 2019.

Speculations on the New Fitbit Device

There are speculations that the new device could be a successor to the kid-friendly Fitbit Ace 3 or a new iteration of the Fitbit Luxe. A Fitbit Charge 6, with built-in GPS, a bright AMOLED screen, and a week-long battery life, could be a strong contender in the fitness tracker market.
