Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter Teaser with Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor: Is This India’s Next Blockbuster?

Hrithik Roshan, the Bollywood superstar, is all set to make a grand comeback with his upcoming film Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film, which is slated to release on 25 January 2024, is touted to be India’s first aerial action film and the first instalment in a planned franchise.

The teaser of the film, which was released on 8 December 2023, has already created a huge buzz among fans and critics alike. The teaser showcases Hrithik Roshan in a stunning avatar as Squadron leader Shamsher “Patty” Pathania, who is part of an elite team of fighter pilots. The teaser also features Deepika Padukone as Squadron leader Minal “Minni” Rathore, who is Patty’s love interest and partner in crime.

The third member of the team is Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai “Rocky” Singh, who is their mentor and commander. The teaser promises a thrilling ride as the trio takes on various missions across different locations in India and abroad.

The teaser begins with a voice-over by Rocky Singh, who introduces himself as “the best pilot in the world”. He then says that he has been selected for a special assignment that will test his skills and courage. He adds that he has chosen three of his best pilots to join him on this mission. The camera then cuts to three different scenes that reveal the personalities and backgrounds of Patty, Minni and Rocky.

In the first scene, we see Patty flying his fighter jet over the Himalayas at night. He receives a call from Rocky Singh, who tells him that he has to infiltrate a secret base in Pakistan and destroy their nuclear weapons. Patty agrees to take up the challenge and flies towards his target.

In the second scene, we see Minni flying her fighter jet over Mumbai at dawn. She receives a call from Rocky Singh, who tells her that she has to rescue Patty from a trap set by their enemies. Minni agrees to help him and flies towards his location.

In the third scene, we see Rocky flying his fighter jet over Delhi at noon. He receives a call from Rocky Singh himself, who tells him that he has been betrayed by one of his own pilots and that he has to escape from a missile attack by their enemies. Rocky agrees to fight back and flies towards his safe zone.

The teaser then shows glimpses of each scene with fast-paced editing and action-packed music by Vishal–Shekhar. The teaser also reveals some glimpses of Hrithik Roshan’s stunning looks in different avatars as Patty Pathania: handsome in uniform, rugged in casual wear, muscular in action gear and charismatic in civilian attire.

The teaser also showcases Deepika Padukone’s gorgeous looks as Minni Rathore: elegant in saree, chic in western wear, fierce in combat gear and stunning in casual wear. The teaser also features Anil Kapoor’s impressive looks as Rocky Singh: dashing in a suit, authoritative in uniform, confident in speech and powerful in action.

The teaser ends with a voice-over by Rocky Singh again, who says that this is not just an ordinary mission but an extraordinary one that will change their lives forever. He then says that they are ready for anything because they are fighters.

The teaser has received an overwhelming response from fans and critics alike on social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Many have praised Hrithik Roshan’s comeback after four years with this film. Many have also appreciated Siddharth Anand’s direction skills after directing two consecutive blockbusters War (2019) and War 2 (2025). Many have also expressed their excitement about seeing Deepika Padukone play an action heroine for the first time. Many have also lauded Anil Kapoor’s performance as an experienced pilot leader.

Fighter is expected to be one of the biggest releases of 2024 with its high-octane action sequences shot across various locations like Assam, Hyderabad, Jammu & Kashmir and Mumbai. According to the web search results, the budget of Fighter is estimated to be ₹250 crore The movie is expected to feature some special appearances by popular Bollywood actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan.
